Advanced Diploma in Business Management – Level 5

Advanced Diploma in Business Management – Level 5 in Myanmar

The one-year Advanced Diploma in Business Management (ADBM) course at STI Myanmar University forms the second year of a three-year program leading to a BA(Hons) Business Administration degree, awarded by the University of Bedfordshire, UK. The ADBM integrates academic and practice-based learning with employability skills. The qualification is intended to equip students with the knowledge and skills relevant to employment, to meet the particular needs of the local and regional employment market. The course also encourages students to be entrepreneurial in their outlook.

The Advanced Diploma in Business Management builds on the Diploma in Business Management to extend knowledge and skills in business management. The Level 5 course focuses on the functional areas of management and administration within an organization and how those disciplines integrate at the operational level, linking with overall corporate strategy to achieve short, medium and long-term objectives.

The course equips students with a detailed understanding of organisations and their management, and the local and global business environments and economies in which they operate. The course also helps to prepare students for a career in business and management, including the development of modern business administration and technology skills, knowledge of strategy, marketing, statistical methods for decision making, operations and organizational behaviour with creative ideas. The course aims to enhance a wide range of transferable skills and attributes including critical thinking and problem-solving skills, necessary to become an effective business operative in a global environment.

On successful completion of the Advanced Diploma, students will have the option to study for a further year to complete a Bachelor degree with Honours through a partnership between STI Myanmar University and the University of Bedfordshire (UK), to study abroad to complete a bachelor level degree, or to embark upon a business or management-related career.

Assessment activities provide major opportunities for learning. Assessment criteria are linked to unit learning outcomes and stated for students in Unit Information Forms (UIFs).
